the veteran has smoked at least one half of a pack year of cigarettes or the equivalent thereof in other tobacco products before the clinical onset of the condition under consideration and, where smoking has ceased, the clinical onset of the condition under consideration occurred within one year of cessation. the veteran's smoking of at least one half of a pack year of cigarettes or the equivalent thereof in other tobacco products commenced at least six months before the clinical onset of the condition under consideration. smoking as a causal result of operational service made a material contribution to the SOP requirements for the clinical onset of gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer and smoking tobacco products.Clinical onset and eligible service [34207]
