Preliminary questions [39939]
the veteran has diverticulitis. the clinical onset of the condition under consideration occurred after the end of the veteran's last period of VEA service. the condition under consideration permanently worsened. the veteran used a drug specified as aggravating diverticular disease of the colon on more days than not for a continuous period of at least the one month before the clinical worsening of the condition under consideration. the veteran's use of a drug specified as aggravating diverticular disease of the colon on more days than not for a continuous period of at least the one month before the clinical worsening of the condition under consideration was materially contributed to by treatment of an illness or injury which is identifiable.39941 — the veteran has established the causal connection between using a specified drug and VEA service for the clinical worsening of diverticular disease of the colon.

or
39943 — the veteran has established the causal connection between using a specified drug and eligible service for the clinical worsening of diverticular disease of the colon.
Clinical worsening and operational service [39942]
39947 — the identified illness or injury, which materially contributed to the veteran's use of a drug specified as aggravating diverticular disease of the colon on more days than not for a continuous period of at least one month, is causally related to operational service.
the clinical onset of the condition under consideration occurred prior to that part of operational service to which the identified illness or injury, which materially contributed to the veteran's use of a drug specified as aggravating diverticular disease of the colon on more days than not for a continuous period of at least one month, is causally related.Clinical worsening and eligible service [39943]
39948 — the identified illness or injury, which materially contributed to the veteran's use of a drug specified as aggravating diverticular disease of the colon on more days than not for a continuous period of at least one month, is causally related to eligible service.
the clinical onset of the condition under consideration occurred prior to that part of eligible service to which the identified illness or injury, which materially contributed to the veteran's use of a drug specified as aggravating diverticular disease of the colon on more days than not for a continuous period of at least one month, is causally related.
