Treatment with Allopurinol

Preliminary questions [30927]

31063 there is some evidence that treatment with allopurinol may be a factor in the development or worsening of the condition under consideration.

31064 the veteran has been treated with a cumulative dose of at least 200 grams of allopurinol at some time.

31065 the cumulative dose of at least 200 grams of allopurinol was materially contributed to by treatment of an illness or injury which is identifiable.

31066  the veteran has established the causal connection between the identified illness or injury for which the treatment with allopurinol was given and VEA service for acquired cataract.

31067   the veteran has established the causal connection between the identified illness or injury for which the treatment with allopurinol was given and VEA service for the clinical onset of acquired cataract.

31069  the veteran has established the causal connection between the identified illness or injury for which the treatment with allopurinol was given and eligible service for the clinical onset of acquired cataract.

or

31070  the veteran has established the causal connection between the identified illness or injury for which the treatment with allopurinol was given and operational service for the clinical onset of acquired cataract.

or

7334     the clinical onset of the condition under consideration occurred after the end of the veteran's last period of VEA service.

7335     the condition under consideration permanently worsened.

31068   the veteran has established the causal connection between the identified illness or injury for which the treatment with allopurinol was given and VEA service for the clinical worsening of acquired cataract.

31071  the veteran has established the causal connection between the identified illness or injury for which the treatment with allopurinol was given and eligible service for the clinical worsening of acquired cataract.Ê

or

31072  the veteran has established the causal connection between the identified illness or injury for which the treatment with allopurinol was given and operational service for the clinical worsening of acquired cataract.

Clinical onset and operational service [31070]

31074 the identified illness or injury made a material contribution to the treatment with a cumulative dose of at least 200 grams of allopurinol before the clinical onset of the condition under consideration.

31079  the identified illness or injury which made a material contribution to the veteran receiving a cumulative dose of at least 200 grams of allopurinol is causally related to operational service.

Clinical onset and eligible service [31069]

31073 the veteran has been treated with a cumulative dose of at least 400 grams of allopurinol at some time.

31076 the identified illness or injury made a material contribution to the treatment with a cumulative dose of at least 400 grams of allopurinol.

31077 the identified illness or injury made a material contribution to the treatment with a cumulative dose of at least 400 grams of allopurinol before the clinical onset of the condition under consideration.

31081  the identified illness or injury which made a material contribution to the veteran receiving a cumulative dose of at least 400 grams of allopurinol is causally related to eligible service.

Clinical worsening and operational service [31072]

31075 the identified illness or injury made a material contribution to the treatment with a cumulative dose of at least 200 grams of allopurinol before the clinical worsening of the condition under consideration.

31079  the identified illness or injury which made a material contribution to the veteran receiving a cumulative dose of at least 200 grams of allopurinol is causally related to operational service.

31083 the clinical onset of the condition under consideration occurred prior to that part of operational service to which the identified illness or injury that materially contributed to a cumulative dose of at least 200 grams of allopurinol is causally related.

Clinical worsening and eligible service [31071]

31073 the veteran has been treated with a cumulative dose of at least 400 grams of allopurinol at some time.

31076 the identified illness or injury made a material contribution to the treatment with a cumulative dose of at least 400 grams of allopurinol.

31078 the identified illness or injury made a material contribution to the treatment with a cumulative dose of at least 400 grams of allopurinol before the clinical worsening of the condition under consideration.

31081  the identified illness or injury which made a material contribution to the veteran receiving a cumulative dose of at least 400 grams of allopurinol is causally related to eligible service.

31084 the clinical onset of the condition under consideration occurred prior to that part of eligible service to which the identified illness or injury that materially contributed to a cumulative dose of at least 400 grams of allopurinol is causally related.
