Significant trauma to the eye
Open-angle glaucoma - Significant trauma to the eye Factor
In the Statements of Principles for open-angle glaucoma and angle-closure glaucoma, the RMA states that significant trauma to the affected eye "means penetrating, blunt, chemical or radiation injury involving the affected eye that results in intraocular inflammation, intraocular bleeding or other intraocular tissue disruption."
Such an injury would require prompt medical attention and should be documented in medical records.
