Preliminary questions [27497]
there is some evidence that a trauma to the aorta may be a factor in the development or worsening of the condition under consideration.27499 the veteran has suffered a penetrating or blunt major thoracic or abdominal trauma that has damaged the aorta at some time.
the veteran has suffered a penetrating or blunt major thoracic or abdominal trauma that has damaged the aorta at the site of the condition under consideration.27501 — the veteran has established the causal connection between the trauma to the aorta and VEA service for aortic aneurysm.
27503 — the veteran has established the causal connection between the trauma to the aorta and VEA service for the clinical onset of aortic aneurysm.
27506 — the veteran has established the causal connection between the trauma to the aorta and operational service for the clinical onset of aortic aneurysm.
or
27507 — the veteran has established the causal connection between the trauma to the aorta and eligible service for the clinical onset of aortic aneurysm.
or
the clinical onset of the condition under consideration occurred after the end of the veteran's last period of VEA service. the condition under consideration permanently worsened.27505 — the veteran has established the causal connection between the trauma to the aorta and VEA service for the clinical worsening of aortic aneurysm.
27508 — the veteran has established the causal connection between the trauma to the aorta and operational service for the clinical worsening of aortic aneurysm.
or
27509 — the veteran has established the causal connection between the trauma to the aorta and eligible service for the clinical worsening of aortic aneurysm.
Clinical onset and operational service [27506]
on operational service, the veteran suffered a penetrating or blunt major thoracic or abdominal trauma that damaged the aorta at the site of the condition under consideration. on operational service, the veteran suffered a penetrating or blunt major thoracic or abdominal trauma that damaged the aorta at the site of the condition under consideration before the clinical onset of the condition under consideration. the penetrating or blunt major thoracic or abdominal trauma that damaged the aorta at the site of the condition under consideration, on operational service, before the clinical onset of the condition under consideration, was due to the veteran's serious default, wilful act or serious breach of discipline.or
the veteran suffered a penetrating or blunt major thoracic or abdominal trauma that damaged the aorta at the site of the condition under consideration because of an illness or injury which is identifiable. as a consequence of the identified illness or injury, the veteran suffered a penetrating or blunt major thoracic or abdominal trauma that damaged the aorta at the site of the condition under consideration before the clinical onset of the condition under consideration.27515 — the identified illness or injury, which caused the penetrating or blunt major thoracic or abdominal trauma resulting in damage to the aorta, is causally related to operational service.
Clinical onset and eligible service [27507]
on eligible service, the veteran suffered a penetrating or blunt major thoracic or abdominal trauma that damaged the aorta at the site of the condition under consideration. on eligible service, as a causal result of eligible service duties, the veteran suffered a penetrating or blunt major thoracic or abdominal trauma that damaged the aorta at the site of the condition under consideration. as a causal result of eligible service duties, the veteran suffered a penetrating or blunt major thoracic or abdominal trauma that damaged the aorta at the site of the condition under consideration before the clinical onset of the condition under consideration. the penetrating or blunt major thoracic or abdominal trauma that damaged the aorta at the site of the condition under consideration, on eligible service, before the clinical onset of the condition under consideration, was due to the veteran's serious default, wilful act or serious breach of discipline.or

Clinical worsening and operational service [27508]

the clinical onset of the condition under consideration occurred prior to that part of operational service to which the identified illness or injury, which caused the penetrating or blunt major thoracic or abdominal trauma that damaged the aorta, is causally related.Clinical worsening and eligible service [27509]
on eligible service, the veteran suffered a penetrating or blunt major thoracic or abdominal trauma that damaged the aorta at the site of the condition under consideration. on eligible service, as a causal result of eligible service duties, the veteran suffered a penetrating or blunt major thoracic or abdominal trauma that damaged the aorta at the site of the condition under consideration. as a causal result of eligible service duties, the veteran suffered a penetrating or blunt major thoracic or abdominal trauma that damaged the aorta at the site of the condition under consideration before the clinical worsening of the condition under consideration. the clinical onset of the condition under consideration occurred before the veteran suffered a penetrating or blunt major thoracic or abdominal trauma that damaged the aorta as a causal result of eligible service duties. the penetrating or blunt major thoracic or abdominal trauma that damaged the aorta at the site of the condition under consideration, on eligible service, before the clinical worsening of the condition under consideration, was due to the veteran's serious default, wilful act or serious breach of discipline.or
