the veteran has smoked cigarettes, cigars or pipe tobacco at some time.34398 — the veteran has established the causal connection between smoking tobacco products and operational service for the clinical onset of Hodgkin's lymphoma.
Clinical onset and operational service [34398]
the veteran smoked at least 10 pack-years of cigarettes or the equivalent thereof in other tobacco products before the clinical onset of Hodgkin's lymphoma, and, where smoking has ceased, the clinical onset has occurred within 15 years of cessation. smoking as a causal result of operational service made a material contribution to the requirements of the Statement of Principles for Hodgkin's lymphoma regarding smoking.
