Bacterial infection of the relevant disc

Intervertebral disc prolapse - Bacterial infection of the relevant disc Factor

The bacterial infection must have occurred at the site of the intervertebral disc prolapse.  Examples of bacterial infections that may affect the relevant disc include:  tuberculosis, gonorrhoea, staphylococcus aureus (Golden Staph).  Most bacterial infections arise from either trauma or surgery and require antibiotic treatment.  A bacterial infection may result in septic arthritis.

Preliminary questions [25186]

38464 there is some evidence that bacterial infection of the relevant disc may be a factor in the development or worsening of the condition under consideration.

38465 the veteran has had bacterial infection of a disc at some time.

38466 the veteran had bacterial infection of side and site of the body.

38467  the bacterial infection of side and site of the body is an illness or injury which is identifiable.

38472  the veteran has established the causal connection between the bacterial infection of the relevant disc and VEA service for intervertebral disc prolapse.

38468 the veteran had the identified illness or injury, a bacterial infection of side and site of the body, at the time of the clinical onset of the condition under consideration.

38473   the veteran has established the causal connection between the bacterial infection of the relevant disc and VEA service for the clinical onset of intervertebral disc prolapse.

38475  the veteran has established the causal connection between the bacterial infection of the relevant disc and operational service for the clinical onset of intervertebral disc prolapse.

or

38476  the veteran has established the causal connection between the bacterial infection of the relevant disc and eligible service for the clinical onset of intervertebral disc prolapse.

or

7334     the clinical onset of the condition under consideration occurred after the end of the veteran's last period of VEA service.

7335     the condition under consideration permanently worsened.

38469 the veteran had the identified illness or injury, a bacterial infection of side and site of the body, at the time of the clinical worsening of the condition under consideration.

38474   the veteran has established the causal connection between the bacterial infection of the relevant disc and VEA service for the clinical worsening of intervertebral disc prolapse.

38477  the veteran has established the causal connection between the bacterial infection of the relevant disc and operational service for the clinical worsening of intervertebral disc prolapse.

or

38478  the veteran has established the causal connection between the bacterial infection of the relevant disc and eligible service for the clinical worsening of intervertebral disc prolapse.

Clinical onset and operational service [38475]

38470  the identified illness or injury, a bacterial infection of side and site of the body, is causally related to operational service.

Clinical onset and eligible service [38476]

38471  the identified illness or injury, a bacterial infection of side and site of the body, is causally related to eligible service.

Clinical worsening and operational service [38477]

38470  the identified illness or injury, a bacterial infection of side and site of the body, is causally related to operational service.

38479 the clinical onset of the condition under consideration occurred prior to that part of operational service to which the identified illness or injury, a bacterial infection of side and site of the body, is causally related.

Clinical worsening and eligible service [38478]

38471  the identified illness or injury, a bacterial infection of side and site of the body, is causally related to eligible service.

38480 the clinical onset of the condition under consideration occurred prior to that part of eligible service to which the identified illness or injury, a bacterial infection of side and site of the body, is causally related.
