Exposure to an agent as specified for reactive airways dysfunction syndrome

Asthma - Exposure to an agent as specified for reactive airways dysfunction syndrome Factor

Reactive airways dysfunction syndrome (RADS) is a specific condition that arises in response to an exposure to an agent as specified in the SOP for asthma.  Therefore, if the diagnosis of RADS is accurate then the relevant exposure to very high concentrations of irritant gas, smoke, fume or vapour must have occurred.  Examples of such exposure include smoke inhalation (eg a fire-fighter) or chemical accidents eg a chlorine spill.
