The RMA has defined inflammatory joint disease to mean:
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Reiter's syndrome
- Psoriatic arthropathy
- Ankylosing spondylitis
- Arthritis associated with Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis
Conditions such as chondromalacia patellae, Paget's disease, osteoporosis, meniscal or ligament damage are not inflammatory joint disease.
