Bleeding of an intracerebral space occupying lesion
Intracerebral haemorrhage - Bleeding of an intracerebral space occupying lesion Factor
The RMA has defined an intracerebral space occupying lesion as one of the following entities occupying a delimited area within the brain:
- Neoplasm of the brain
- Intracerebral abscess
- Tuberculoma of the brain
- Cerebral cysts
All these diseases are serious conditions. If a veteran or member had an intracerebral space occupying lesion he or she would have needed significant medical attention at some time. Such medical treatment would normally be recorded in doctors' notes and/or hospital records. However, these records may have been destroyed or can no longer be obtained. Therefore, if there is a reliable history of appropriate medical treatment at a particular time, this generally will be accepted, unless there is contradictory evidence. Seek medical advice if it is unclear whether the claimed symptoms and treatment at that time can be attributed to an intracerebral space occupying lesion rather than to some other condition.

Preliminary questions [12591]
12955 there is some evidence that bleeding of an intracerebral space occupying lesion may be a factor in the development of the condition under consideration, a cerebrovascular accident.
12801 the veteran has had an intracerebral space occupying lesion at some time.
12802 the intracerebral space occupying lesion is an illness or injury which is identifiable.
12804 the identified illness or injury, an intracerebral space occupying lesion, was bleeding at the time of the clinical onset of the condition under consideration, a cerebrovascular accident.
12805 the veteran has established the causal connection between the identified illness or injury, an intracerebral space occupying lesion, and VEA service for the clinical onset of cerebrovascular accident.
12806 the veteran has established the causal connection between the identified illness or injury, an intracerebral space occupying lesion, and operational service for the clinical onset of cerebrovascular accident.
or
12807 the veteran has established the causal connection between the identified illness or injury, an intracerebral space occupying lesion, and eligible service for the clinical onset of cerebrovascular accident.
Clinical onset and operational service [12806]
12808 the identified illness or injury, an intracerebral space occupying lesion, is causally related to operational service.
Clinical onset and eligible service [12807]
12809 the identified illness or injury, an intracerebral space occupying lesion, is causally related to eligible service.
