Anterior displacement of the retina

Hypermetropia - Anterior displacement of the retina Factor

RMA definition

"Anterior displacement of the retina" means displacement of the retina in the direction of the cornea bringing the retina closer to the lens.

General information

The displacement of the retina is towards the front of the eye.  Typical causes of this include tumours, subretinal fluid collection or retinal detachment.  Anterior displacement of the retina is a serious condition which requires medical attention, and would be documented in medical records. Seek medical advice if anterior displacement of the retina is claimed to have been present but confirmation is not available

PRELIMINARY QUESTIONS [26249]

26250 there is some evidence that anterior displacement of the retina may be a factor in the development or worsening of the condition under consideration.

26397 the veteran has had anterior displacement of the retina at some time.

26251 the veteran has had anterior displacement of the retina of side and site of the body at some time.

26252 the anterior displacement of the retina of side and site of the body occurred as a result of an illness or injury which is identifiable.

26253  the veteran has established the causal connection between the anterior displacement of the retina and VEA service for hypermetropia.

26254 as a consequence of the identified illness or injury, the veteran had anterior displacement of the retina of side and site of the body at the time of the clinical onset of the condition under consideration.

26255   the veteran has established the causal connection between the anterior displacement of the retina and VEA service for the clinical onset of hypermetropia.

26258  the veteran has established the causal connection between the anterior displacement of the retina and operational service for the clinical onset of hypermetropia.

or

26259  the veteran has established the causal connection between the anterior displacement of the retina and eligible service for the clinical onset of hypermetropia.

or

7334     the clinical onset of the condition under consideration occurred after the end of the veteran's last period of VEA service.

7335     the condition under consideration permanently worsened.

26256 as a consequence of the identified illness or injury, the veteran had anterior displacement of the retina of side and site of the body at the time of the clinical worsening of the condition under consideration.

26257   the veteran has established the causal connection between the anterior displacement of the retina and VEA service for the clinical worsening of hypermetropia.

26260  the veteran has established the causal connection between the anterior displacement of the retina and operational service for the clinical worsening of hypermetropia.

or

26261  the veteran has established the causal connection between the anterior displacement of the retina and eligible service for the clinical worsening of hypermetropia.

CLINICAL ONSET AND OPERATIONAL SERVICE [26258]

26262  the identified illness or injury that caused the anterior displacement of the retina of side and site of the body is causally related to operational service.

CLINICAL ONSET AND ELIGIBLE SERVICE [26259]

26263  the identified illness or injury that caused the anterior displacement of the retina of side and site of the body is causally related to eligible service.

CLINICAL WORSENING AND OPERATIONAL SERVICE [26260]

26262  the identified illness or injury that caused the anterior displacement of the retina of side and site of the body is causally related to operational service.

26264 the clinical onset of the condition under consideration occurred prior to that part of operational service to which the identified illness or injury, which caused the anterior displacement of the retina of side and site of the body, is causally related.

CLINICAL WORSENING AND ELIGIBLE SERVICE [26261]

26263  the identified illness or injury that caused the anterior displacement of the retina of side and site of the body is causally related to eligible service.

26265 the clinical onset of the condition under consideration occurred prior to that part of eligible service to which the identified illness or injury, which caused the anterior displacement of the retina of side and site of the body, is causally related.
