Purpose of screen

The new Residential Care Search screen allows the approved status of a facility to be checked.  This is important because only residents of approved facilities are ineligible for rent assistance from 1 October 1997 and only approved facilities can charge accommodation bonds.

There may however be some residents residing in an approved care facility receiving “accommodation only”.  These people will continue to receive rent assistance.    More
