Resident pays the lesser of income tested fee or Commonwealth subsidy
The Commonwealth subsidy is tied to the level of care assessed for the resident. For hostel residents requiring some level of care, this ranges between NIL to $36 per day (indexed) and for nursing home level care between $52 and $102 per day (indexed).
The level of Commonwealth Government subsidy has slight variations from state to state. These state variations will become aligned nationally progressively over coming years.
