Background

From 1 October 1997, where a DVA income support pensioner enters aged care, certain actions are necessary, as described in the procedure below. The action necessary will ensure that that person's changed circumstances are taken into account in their pension assessment.

Similar procedures are not required for self-funded retirees because they are not in receipt of an income support pension.
