Non-Incapacity Overpayments

A non-incapacity overpayment may result from:

  • the wrong employee or service provider being paid;

  • doctors being paid an incorrect amount;

  • duplicate payments due to a claim or invoice being processed twice;

  • a successful appeal to the AAT or Courts;

  • money prepaid for travel not used;

  • a common law or third party settlement; or

  • fraudulent activities.1
