Defining Overpayments

Comcare has two major goals in relation to overpayments:

to reduce their occurrence as much as possible; and
where they do occur, to recover the overpaid money in the shortest possible time, and at the least cost to the organisation.

There are two distinct types of payments that can lead to overpayments; non-incapacity (all payments which are not incapacity related, including medical, rehabilitation and permanent impairment payments) and incapacity.
