Advice to Estate of deceased employee regarding incapacity overpayment

<Estate of the late *employee name>

OR <Name of  dependant>

Dear Sir/Madam

I am writing to you with regard to the Estate of the late <employee's name> and apologise for having to write to you on a business matter so soon after your recent bereavement.

<Employee title and surname> was in receipt of a benefit from Comcare in the form of fortnightly incapacity payments at the time of <his/her> death.  While it is Comcare's policy to continue payment for the full fortnight the date of death fell within, in some instances, more than a fortnight's payment is made.

In this case, an additional payment dated <pay day date> was credited to account number <BSB and account number> at <name of bank>.  This means that an overpayment of <$ amount of overpayment> has resulted, which unfortunately we are required to recover.

It would be appreciated if you could arrange to have the overpaid amount repaid as soon as you can.  A cheque should be forwarded to this office, made payable to 'Comcare Australia', and marked to my attention.

Once payment has been received, an early issue group certificate will be arranged.

I would be happy to discuss the matter further with you if required.  My contact number is <telephone number>.

Yours sincerely
