Repayment In The Same Financial Year

If the payee elects to repay the overpayment in a lump sum and monies are fully recovered in the same financial year, the net amount of the overpayment only will need to be recovered from the payee.  Comcare will retrieve any tax component direct from the Tax Office, using the Department of Finance Payroll System.

It is the DoF Liaison officer's role in Comcare's Human Resources area to liaise with the Tax Office about retrieval of the outstanding tax component.  A brief outline of the types of duties a DoF Liaison officer has is included at the end of this part.

In this circumstance, the respective components of the overpayment will need to be manually calculated to take into account net and gross amounts.  PRACSYS only provides a gross figure for incapacity payments.
