Defining 'Rehabilitation program'

The Act defines a rehabilitation program as including:

“medical, dental, psychiatric and hospital services (whether on an in-patient or out-patient basis), physical training and exercise, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and vocational training.” [section 4]

Having such services covered ensures there is nothing missed in helping an employee return to suitable employment.

The rehabilitation program definition allows a RTWP to be as flexible as is required to fit the needs of the individual.  However, only some of these services are regarded as rehabilitation services as part of a RTWP.  These will be discussed later.
