The Investigation Process

While claims for permanent impairment (PI) are generally quite complex, there is a fine line between making:

• an informed decision, and

• over-investigating.

Some cases may be quite clear cut.  Often, employees assist the process by providing detailed information with their claim.  However, the usual practice is that employees write to Comcare requesting consideration of a permanent impairment.

In response, a 'Compensation Claim for Permanent Injury' form should be issued for completion by both the employee and his or her treating doctor.
