Leaving Australia
While leaving Australia does not affect an employee's entitlement to payment for incapacity, there are penalties outlined in the Act if an employee does not advise Comcare that he or she is proposing to leave, or has left Australia either on a temporary or permanent basis.
It is important to know where an employee is resident so that his or her compensation claim can be correctly administered.
