The Automatic Update Program
The automatic update process in PRACSYS is a large and complex function requiring accurate data to ensure that it runs successfully.
Claims staff would be more familiar with the automatic overnight updating of incapacity determinations, where changes have been made to NWEs that affect calculations and a payee's entitlement.
This function is designed to allow entry of minimal data only, then rely on the system to complete the larger process of adjusting relevant determinations.
However, the automatic update program can also be used for bulk claim adjustments, where there has been:
-
a national wage case increase,
-
superannuation variation, or
-
specific occupation-related wage changes.
It is crucial to enter correct information to allow the program to run accurately. The function is guided by many of the fields entered onto the employee record, and if any of these is not correct, entitlements will be inaccurately redetermined.
The following outlines the fields or indicators that must have correct information entered prior to the automatic process being successful:
-
Correct date of birth, located on the 'AEMP' (Amend Employee) screen, must be entered;
-
'Commonwealth employee' and 'former employee' flags, located in 'CCLM' and 'ACLM' (Create and Amend Claim) must be set (Y or N);
-
Standard weekly hours and minutes must be entered, located in 'CCLM' and 'ACLM' (Create and Amend Claim);
-
Correct occupation code, located on the 'ENDS' (Enter NDS Codes) screen, should be entered;
-
Accurate superannuation details must be registered in 'CSUP' (Change Employee Super Details) where applicable;
-
Appropriate details need to be registered in 'CNWE' (Create/Amend Normal Weekly Earnings) for transitional Act cases;
