DSS Definition Of 'Compensation'
For DSS purposes, a payment of compensation includes payment:

by way of damages;
-
under a scheme of insurance or compensation provided for by a law of the Commonwealth, a State or Territory (this includes Comcare); and
-
any other payment, such as voluntary or ex gratia payment, in lieu of compensation.
Compensation relates to loss of earnings only and must be repaid by either:

the beneficiary;
-
insurance company; or
-
other person liable to pay compensation (Comcare).
