Occupational Health & Safety Act 1991
The OH&S (Commonwealth Employment) Act 1991 requires Comcare to monitor whether employers have complied with the provisions of the Act and to intervene where those conditions have been breached.
While a claims manager's exposure to this Act will generally be limited, it is important to understand that where workplace injury can be prevented, the incidence of claims will drop. The impact of OH&S will serve to significantly reduce premiums as well as individual claim caseload levels.
