Comcare'S Role
Claims managers are responsible for ensuring that rehabilitation is commenced when required, and is monitored so it doesn't 'fall off the rails'.
Comcare is responsible for the overall management of individual claims. Part of claim management is rehabilitation. In effect, this means over sighting the Case Manager role and ensuring that employers fulfil their obligations under the SRC Act.
To a large extent, Case Managers will rely on claims managers to assist them with advice on how best to manage the rehabilitation process within the overall goals of return to work and program cost control.
