Redemption under section 30

Redemption under s 30 (in Part II) of the SRC Act must occur if three statutory criteria are satisfied:

• there is liability under ss 19, 20, 21 or 21A to make weekly payments;
• the amount of the weekly payments is equal to or less than the weekly amount specified in s 30(1)(b) of the Act (currently $77.04 pw; $79.43 pw from 1 July 2002); and
• the degree of the client's incapacity is unlikely to change.

Note that serving members should not be redeemed as their level of incapacity is likely to change.
