Section 14(2) of the SRC Act states:

14(2)Compensation is not payable in respect of an injury that is intentionally self-inflicted.

This question is testing whether the medical condition is intentionally self-inflicted by the client, eg. in order to avoid certain duties or to claim compensation and consequent financial gain.

If the medical condition is self-inflicted, s 14(2) bars payment of compensation for an injury (whether resulting in death, incapacity or impairment).
