If None of the Above Tables Apply
If the impairment under investigation is an impairment of the digestive system, but is not properly described in any of the three Tables above, the assessor should investigate two possibilities:
- whether another Table in the Approved Guide offers an appropriate basis for assessment of impairment; refer to the discussion of Guide Table Used to Determine WPI for an overview of the Tables in the Approved Guide; or
- whether the current American Medical Association Guide should be used to determine WPI. Note, however, that the AMA Guides are to be used only in very rare cases in consultation with an approved medical provider.
