Currently, the most common source of other compensation that triggers the VEA offsetting provisions is the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988. (SRCA)   Other sources include:

  • Comcare - also administers the SRCA for non-Defence related workers' compensation
  • State Workers' Compensation Boards – WorkCover etc
  • Dust Diseases Tribunal
  • Private Insurance companies - eg SGIO, GIO.  Often third party claims following motor vehicle accidents.
  • Award of damages by a Court
  • Settlement of common law proceedings
