5.2 Veterans' Home Care

Veterans' Home Care (VHC) provides in-home care and support services to complement DVA’s health care arrangements. The VHC Program is designed to assist Entitled Persons  who wish to maintain their independence to live at home by providing practical help.

The VHC Program also assists Carers in recognition of the vital role they play in the veteran and defence community.

The VHC Program is not designed to assist Entitled Persons who require high amounts of personal care or respite care due to their complex or high-level support needs.

Access to services is not automatic, but based on assessed need.
