1.2.4 Resident agreements

Resident agreements are also known as residential care agreements. They are agreements between a care recipient and an approved aged care provider to cover issues such as the level of care to be provided, the policy and practices that a care provider will follow in setting fees, the amounts to be deducted and refunds complaints mechanisms, or circumstances under which a person may be asked to leave the approved facility. The content of agreements is regulated by the Aged Care legislation. A residential care agreement can incorporate the terms of an extra service agreement and an accommodation agreement.
