CHANGING CURRENT YEAR INDICATOR ON WINPOR's

Purpose

The purpose of this instruction is to implement a national policy on amending the current year indicator on WINPOR's and to advise the correct procedures to follow when changing this indicator.

Background

The PC Support Unit in central office has recently received a number of calls from the branches requesting information on how to change the current year indicator and on what date should this indicator change.

Following these enquiries it has been identified that no formal procedures have been put into place for this practise.

On 1 July 1994 the branches should follow the procedure outline below to change the current year indicator and this same procedure should be followed on 1 July each year thereafter.

Procedures

To Change current year indicator on WINPOR's

a.Logon to WINPOR's as normal

b.Select the Admin menu option

c.Choose System settings

d.Click on New Year (a message will be displayed indicating that you wish to change to the next year and that the next debt number allocated when a new debt is entered onto the system will be 9400001).

e.Choose O.K

f.A message will be displayed confirming that the new year has been changed
