5. Introduction - For Claims Assessors: Investigation Guidelines for Psychiatric Conditions

The purpose of these guidelines is to help claims assessors ensure as far as possible that diagnoses and assessments of psychiatric conditions have been fully and accurately reported. In the past, some compensation claims for psychiatric disabilities have been accepted with a low level of documentary evidence. Although these guidelines focus on PTSD they should be applied to any diagnosed psychiatric disability.
