1.2.1 Qualifying Service

For a claimant to be eligible for a service pension (and associated benefits) they must have qualifying service. Qualifying service requires that the veteran incurred danger from hostile forces of the enemy[glossary:.:]
A person may also be recognised as having qualifying service if their service is of a kind determined by the Minister for Defence to be warlike service.
