7.8.1 Who is a wholly dependent partner?

The MRCA defines a wholly dependent partner of a deceased member as a person:

  • who was the partner of the member immediately before his or her death (see Who is a member's partner for the purposes of the MRCA? above); and
  • who was wholly dependent on the member at that time (see 7.5.2 [2]).

The following flowchart shows the steps to be taken in determining whether a person meets the definition of a wholly dependent partner.
