1.2 Residential Aged Care and Home Care

Residential aged care is personal or nursing care for frail older people who can no longer live independently in their own homes. It does not include care provided in a person's private home, in hospital, or in a facility that primarily provides care to people who are not frail and aged.

A Home Care Package provides a coordinated package of services tailored to meet the specific care needs of a person, in their own home.
