What methods of payment can be used to pay pension instalments

The Commission has approved three different methods of paying pensioners' fortnightly pension instalments. The three methods are:

Pension instalments are payable to eligible pensioners on a fortnightly basis, on a Thursday. This is called the pension payday.

The VEA allows instalments of pension to be paid earlier than the DVA pension payday on such occasions as national public or bank holidays, such as Christmas Day, ANZAC Day or Australia Day.


According to Section 179 of the VEA, the Commission is a body corporate under the name of Repatriation Commission.

 

 

Commencing from the Thursday falling on 11 July 1991, DVA pension payday falls on each succeeding alternate Thursday.  Refer to the fact sheet IS144 Pension Paydays, Allowance Payment Dates & Pension Periods for a listing of these days.
